I grew up in Rincon Valley in Santa Rosa. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in Kindergarten. My mom is a fourth-grade teacher, one of my older brothers is a P.E. teacher, and my future sister-in-law is a Kindergarten teacher! Needless to say, we have some "teacher talk" at every family gathering. I attended college and graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton in 2015. Go Tigers! I missed Sonoma County so much that I ended up moving back and now live in Rincon Valley again, about a 5-minute drive from my parents' house.
I started teaching 4th grade in 2015, then taught 3rd, 5th, and then I have been teaching 2nd grade since the fall of 2018! Every grade is special and is fun to teach for a different reason. I love teaching second grade because I love how caring, funny, and creative second graders are! I really enjoy watching my students grow as readers. My favorite subject to teach is science because I love seeing the creative solutions to problems that students have.
In my free time, some of my favorite things to do are to paint, read, play my ukulele, go for hikes or to the beach, and spend time with my friends and family!
