Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Lily Phelps

I am very excited to be teaching first grade this year at Yulupa Elementary School. I have always enjoyed going to school and my favorite subjects are: science, math, and I really love to read. I recently graduated from CSU, Chico with my BA in Liberal Studies and I then continued my journey as a Wildcat and finished my Teaching Credential. At Chico State, I enjoyed teaching in the science, math, music, and art hands on labs. I was also a docent in the Gateway Science Museum.  Last year, I loved teaching kindergarten at Woodson Elementary School in Corning, California. Some of my hobbies outside of going to school are: baking, traveling, playing volleyball, spinning, working out at the gym, and spending time with my family.

I was born and raised in Grass Valley, California. I grew up in a loving family in this picturesque little community. I graduated from Bear River High School, went on to Sierra College in Roseville and then transferred to Butte College. I then got the wonderful opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy! Italy has captured my heart forever. After, I transferred to Chico State, I completed my Liberal Studies degree with an area of concentration in Science and graduated in the spring of 2016. I then finished my Multiple Subject Credential.

I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up!  As a little girl, I can remember being in my parents’ classrooms and writing on the chalkboard pretending to be the teacher.  I have always loved working with children and I am now looking forward to helping your children love learning as I continuing my teaching career here in first grade!
