Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Kara Ingram
Welcome to the new school year! I am beyond excited to get to know both you and your child. I hope you are ready for a year of fun, learning, and growth.
I have taught 1st grade for two years at Yulupa Elementary School. Prior to Yulupa I taught second grade in Healdsburg for two years and one year teaching first grade in Southern California. I enjoy every minute I spend in the classroom and am thrilled to be teaching at such a wonderful school.
Before I began my career in teaching, I received my Bachelor's Degree in English and Education at UC Santa Barbara. I then furthered my education at CSU Channel Islands, where I received my Multiple Subject and Single Subject (English) teaching credentials. Prior to my credentialing, I had over six years of teaching experience in preschool, elementary, middle school, after school, and childcare programs. In these various classroom settings I have established my personal philosophy of teaching. I strongly believe that as a teacher it is my duty to ensure that every child is provided the years worth of growth that they deserve. I recognize that each child is unique and it is my job to find the strategies that allow all of my students to learn and grow to their full potential.
When I am not teaching in the classroom you can find me either rock climbing, practicing yoga, running, or hanging out with my wonderful boyfriend and dog, Cloud. I love being active and spending time outside. Living a healthy lifestyle is very important to me, which I strongly believe in emphasizing in the classroom. You will be sure to find your child learning in ways that require them to move around and have fun!
