Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lisa Mantooth

I was born and raised on a small farm in the central valley town of Manteca.  After graduating from East Union High School (go Lancers!), I attended California State University, Stanislaus, where I received my BA in English Literature in 1989. I taught preschool before my children were born, and then was lucky enough to be able to stay at home with them until they were ready to go to school.  I received my teaching credential from the University of San Francisco and taught kindergarten at Yulupa School from 2000-2007.  I began teaching first grade in the 2007-2008 school year and enjoyed that assignment through the 2014-15 school year.  In August of 2015, I was delighted to be chosen to teach transitional kindergarten.  My first year back with the little ones was rewarding and I am thrilled to continue in this grade, working with these sweet children.  No matter what grade I am teaching, I absolutely love my job and am probably more excited on the first day of school than the kids!

Here is a little bit about my family:  I met my husband, Don, not long after graduating from SSU and we moved to Santa Rosa when we were expecting our first child, Eric, in 1991.  Eric is currently working as a senior software engineer at Informatica in Redwood city, after graduating from Sonoma State University with a degree in Computer Science.  Additionally, he is employed part-time as a lecturer in the Computer Science Department at Sonoma State University. He has his private pilot’s license and is also an amazing photographer.  Sean was born in 1992 and completed his BA in Psychology at Sonoma State.  He completed the teaching credential program at USF and is currently employed by the Nabisco Company.  Sean is a skilled athlete, avid reader, and enjoys playing the piano and guitar.  My husband, Don, retired in 2013 after teaching high school for 33 years!  He is a dedicated golfer and cyclist.

Together, our family enjoys going to Giants games, hiking the beautiful hills in Sonoma County, cooking, listening to music and attending concerts.  At our home, we have a very sweet chocolate lab named Molly, a Russian Blue kitty named Nikita and a tabby cat named Monte.

I am looking forward to getting to know my new students and their families this year.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at  Here’s to a great school year!
