BVUSD Mission Statement

The BVUSD mission is based on the three pillars of Scholarship, Mentorship, and Friendship.
SCHOLARSHIP
Our goals to increase the academic achievement level of all students:
- Implement Common Core in a mindful, comprehensive manner to support students with high quality materials and teachers with high quality training.
- Provide students a way to get to school and eat nutritious food. Provide support for truant students and those who might benefit from additional instructional time due to disciplinary concerns
- Provide parents ways to be meaningfully involved with the education of their children
District Initiatives to Accomplish the Goals
- Provide effective Instruction for ALL: Provide first, best instruction to all students in a high-quality academic curriculum
MENTORSHIP
Our goals to close achievement gaps between subgroups:
- Implementation of Common Core: Provide students, particularly those struggling, socio-economically disadvantaged, and English learners with the support necessary to achieve proficiency in State Standards
- Provide parents ways to be meaningfully involved with the education of their children
District Initiatives to Accomplish the Goals
- Provide a Multi-Tiered System of Academic Supports and Interventions to struggling students that include after and during school programs and to gifted students
FRIENDSHIP
Our goals to ensure a safe environment that nurtures student social/emotional development:
- Enhance student social/emotional safety and skills to maintain a positive school climate for all
