Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Tara Kellett

I grew up in Pleasanton (East Bay Area,) California. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was young. I attended college at Sonoma State University, where I received my Bachelors degree in Communications in 1998 and my Teaching Credential in 2017. I started teaching in Santa Rosa at Hidden Valley in 2017 (1st and 4th.) Then, I taught 4th grade in Petaluma at McKinley Elementary. I’m excited to continue teaching 4th grade at Strawberry!

I love teaching 4th grade, it can be a challenging year for students due to new academic responsibilities and social emotional skill development. 4th graders are curious, serious about fairness and justice and insightful. I really enjoy watching students advance in reading and math during the year and teaching students life skills. My favorite subject to teach is Math because I enjoy teaching advanced math concepts, seeing students problem solve and use different strategies in their math journeys.

In my free time, I enjoy being outside as much as possible; camping, hiking, kayaking and cycling are some of my favorite activities. I also like arts and crafts, brain games, diy projects, reading and spending time with friends and family!
